Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Offshore Instructor specializing in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Crane Operations to join our diverse and inclusive team. This role requires expertise in Offshore Drilling and Marine Rigs, fostering a strong commitment to safety excellence, and providing top-notch training to global offshore personnel. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to empower trainees, promote a safety-first culture, and ensure regulatory compliance in all offshore operations.

These roles will be ongoing day rate positions with our main clients in the offshore sector. You will be required to work internationally, with trips varying from 14-35 days at a time.


Responsibilities

As the Offshore Instructor - HSE and Crane Instructor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Training Delivery

    • Deliver high-quality training programs in HSE and Offshore Crane Operations for teams working on offshore drilling and marine rigs.
    • Provide practical and theoretical lessons in adherence to international safety and regulatory standards.
  • Curriculum Development

    • Develop and update training materials, resources, and safety modules tailored to specific offshore requirements.
    • Incorporate the latest industry standards, safety guidelines, and innovative methodologies into instructional content.
  • Safety and Compliance

    • Ensure all training complies with international maritime and offshore regulations, including but not limited to IMCA, OPITO, and OSHA standards.
    • Promote a culture of safety by instilling best practices and hazard awareness among offshore teams.
  • Performance Evaluation

    • Assess participants' understanding and skills through practical exercises, examinations, and on-the-job assessments.
    • Provide feedback to trainees, fostering continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Collaboration and Innovation

    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including operation managers, safety officers, and crane operators, to align training with operational needs.
    • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and practices in offshore drilling and marine operations, incorporating them into training when appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in offshore drilling and marine rig operations.
  • Certified offshore instructor with valid certifications in HSE and Crane Operations training. Examples may include OPITO-approved BOSIET, LOLER, or equivalent crane certification.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Exceptional facilitation, communication, and presentation skills tailored to diverse adult learning styles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equality, and inclusion within training environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience conducting training in an international and multicultural setting.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is an asset.
  • Strong technical understanding of next-generation crane technologies and digital safety tools.
  • Familiarity with coaching strategies to build confidence and resilience in high-pressure environments.

Location: Offshore environments with occasional travel to onshore training facilities.
Employment Type: Full-time, Rotational Basis.
