Location: Lincolnshire (Grantham area)
Salary: Up to £50,000 + bonus + benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week (flexible start/finish)

The Role

We’re working with a well-established, high-volume recycling and processing operation running a 24/7 facility. They’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take full responsibility for site performance, leading teams and driving safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role overseeing multiple plant areas, with a strong focus on people management, operational delivery, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day site operations across multiple processing plants
  • Ensure full compliance with environmental permits, H&S legislation, and company policies
  • Manage, develop, and motivate site teams, driving a strong safety-first culture
  • Deliver key operational KPIs across safety, productivity, quality, and service
  • Oversee planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet business demands
  • Manage site maintenance strategy to minimise downtime and improve reliability
  • Monitor budgets, control costs, and report on performance to senior leadership
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulators, customers, and contractors
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations and performance
  • Support wider business projects and strategic initiatives

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager (or similar) role within a regulated industry
  • Strong understanding of environmental compliance and site permitting
  • Demonstrable leadership experience managing large, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to drive performance, accountability, and team development
  • Strong organisational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing site budgets and operational costs
  • Track record of delivering continuous improvement and measurable results
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Clear commitment to health & safety best practice

Desirable

  • NEBOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification
  • WAMITAB / COTC (or working towards)
  • Background in waste management, recycling, or environmental services
  • Experience engaging with regulators and external stakeholders
  • Degree qualified in engineering, environmental, or operations discipline
