Barge Engineer – Jack-Up Rig Reactivation Project

Location: Dubai, UAE
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Project-Based

We are recruiting an experienced Barge Engineer to support the reactivation of a premium jack-up drilling rig based in Dubai.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile reactivation project with strong potential for ongoing work following the initial contract.

The Project

You will play a key role in reactivating a jack-up drilling rig, preparing the unit for its return to offshore drilling operations.

Contract Details

  • Initial 3-month project
  • 2-week break following project completion
  • Strong potential for ongoing work
  • Expected rotation following the initial project: 28 days on / 28 days off

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Saturday
  • Based in Dubai

Accommodation

  • Fully furnished apartment provided by the client for the duration of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the reactivation and commissioning of the jack-up rig.
  • Oversee ballast control, stability and marine systems throughout the project.
  • Ensure the rig remains compliant with operational and marine safety requirements.
  • Work closely with the project, maintenance and commissioning teams during the reactivation programme.
  • Assist with preparations for the rig's return to offshore operations.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Previous experience as a Barge Engineer on offshore drilling rigs.
  • Strong jack-up drilling rig experience.
  • Previous involvement in rig reactivation, shipyard, newbuild or major upgrade projects.
  • Solid understanding of marine operations, stability and ballast systems.
  • Ability to mobilise at short notice.
  • Willingness to be based in Dubai for the duration of the project.
