O&M Engineer – Solar PV
Location: Southern England – Oxford / M4 Corridor / Bristol / London / South Coast
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + Overtime
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Travel: Field-based, with travel
The Opportunity
We are working with a growing specialist Solar PV Operations & Maintenance provider supporting commercial and industrial solar assets across the UK.
Due to growth within the business, the company is looking to appoint an additional O&M Engineer to strengthen its engineering coverage across Southern England.
The role will cover a broad southern territory, particularly around the Oxford to Bristol / M4 corridor, London and the South Coast, and would suit an experienced electrical engineer or electrician who enjoys being hands-on, working independently and travelling between customer sites.
The Role
Working across a portfolio of commercial and industrial Solar PV installations, you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, inspections and remedial works.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across Solar PV installations
- Attending reactive maintenance and fault-finding requirements
- Diagnosing electrical faults and identifying appropriate remedial actions
- Carrying out electrical inspections, testing and maintenance
- Completing site inspections and condition assessments
- Identifying defects and additional remedial work requirements
- Producing clear engineering reports and supporting photographs following site visits
- Liaising with the wider technical and operations teams
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required standards
- Travelling between customer sites throughout the region
About You
We are looking for a strong hands-on electrical engineer/electrician who is comfortable operating independently in a field-based environment.
Ideally, you will have:
- A strong electrical engineering or electrical installation background
- Experience within maintenance, service, installation or field engineering
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working safely across operational or customer sites
- Relevant electrical qualifications
- Gold Card accreditation is highly desirable
- Solar PV or wider renewable energy experience would be advantageous
- Good written communication skills and the ability to produce clear site reports
- A full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to travel throughout Southern England

Salary & Overtime
The role offers a base salary of £40,000 – £45,000, depending on experience with overtime opportunities available.
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.
