Senior Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy
UK – Hybrid / Flexible Location

We’re working with a major renewable energy organisation looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to support a growing portfolio of Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage (BESS) and Private Wire projects across the UK and Ireland.
This is a senior technical role offering involvement across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage development and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
You’ll provide electrical engineering expertise across major renewable energy investments, working closely with multidisciplinary project teams as well as consultants, contractors and OEMs.
The role will include:
- Providing electrical engineering support across Solar PV, BESS and Private Wire projects
- Reviewing and assuring designs and technical outputs from consultants, contractors and OEMs
- Supporting feasibility studies, optioneering and technical decision-making
- Developing technical specifications, engineering standards and employer requirements
- Supporting technical evaluation of tenders and procurement activities
- Identifying and managing engineering and project risks
- Providing technical guidance across multidisciplinary project teams
- Supporting projects through construction, commissioning and final handover
- Representing the organisation in technical discussions with external stakeholders
We’re looking for someone with:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong electrical engineering experience within energy or major infrastructure projects
- Experience across multiple project stages including design, construction and commissioning
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems such as HV, protection & control, power electronics, SCADA and/or electrical balance of plant
- Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Good understanding of relevant UK electrical standards, regulations and grid requirements
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to visit project sites
Experience specifically within Solar PV or Battery Storage would be highly advantageous, although candidates from wider power generation, renewables or relevant electrical infrastructure backgrounds will also be of interest.
