PLANT ATTENDANT
Location - Fife
Key Responsibilities
Operations
-
Loading and unloading vehicles, including operation of Front-Loading Shovel (FLS) and Fork Lift Truck (FLT) where required.

Conducting plant inspections and monitoring operational areas across the facility.

Operating overhead crane systems for the movement and management of materials.

Accessing plant areas at varying elevations to check instruments, gauges, and record operational readings.

Responding to planned and unplanned maintenance requirements, blockages, and system changes.

Responding to system alarms and following operational protocols to secure plant areas where necessary.

Maintaining plant cleaning schedules to required operational standards.

Working in environments that may involve heights and confined spaces.
Health & Safety

Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the facility.

Following all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices.

Participating in emergency drills and evacuation exercises.
-
Reporting accidents, incidents, or unsafe practices to management.
-
Working towards competency within the site Permit to Work (PTW) system.
-
Supporting updates to Plant Operating Instructions (POIs) and Risk Assessments where required.

Maintaining effective working relationships with other departments.
Responsibilities may evolve and additional duties may be assigned as required.
Competencies & Requirements

Experience or understanding of operating and monitoring boiler and steam turbine plant systems.

Fork Lift Truck (FLT) certification or experience.
-
Ability to work at height using stairs, ladders, and elevated access areas.
-
Physically capable of manual handling and lifting tasks.
-
Experience operating a Front-Loading Shovel (FLS) is advantageous.
