PLANT ATTENDANT

Location - Fife


Key Responsibilities

Operations

  • Loading and unloading vehicles, including operation of Front-Loading Shovel (FLS) and Fork Lift Truck (FLT) where required.

  • Conducting plant inspections and monitoring operational areas across the facility.

  • Operating overhead crane systems for the movement and management of materials.

  • Accessing plant areas at varying elevations to check instruments, gauges, and record operational readings.

  • Responding to planned and unplanned maintenance requirements, blockages, and system changes.

  • Responding to system alarms and following operational protocols to secure plant areas where necessary.

  • Maintaining plant cleaning schedules to required operational standards.

  • Working in environments that may involve heights and confined spaces.


Health & Safety

  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the facility.

  • Following all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices.

  • Participating in emergency drills and evacuation exercises.

  • Reporting accidents, incidents, or unsafe practices to management.

  • Working towards competency within the site Permit to Work (PTW) system.

  • Supporting updates to Plant Operating Instructions (POIs) and Risk Assessments where required.

  • Maintaining effective working relationships with other departments.

Responsibilities may evolve and additional duties may be assigned as required.


Competencies & Requirements

  • Experience or understanding of operating and monitoring boiler and steam turbine plant systems.

  • Fork Lift Truck (FLT) certification or experience.

  • Ability to work at height using stairs, ladders, and elevated access areas.

  • Physically capable of manual handling and lifting tasks.

  • Experience operating a Front-Loading Shovel (FLS) is advantageous.
