Job Description

Finance Manager – Cayman Islands

A well-established offshore professional services organisation is seeking a Finance Manager to join its Cayman Islands office.

This is a hands-on operational finance role supporting a busy legal/professional services environment, with significant involvement in high-volume, time-sensitive transactional work alongside fee earners and senior stakeholders.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function locally while working closely with the wider central finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations including billing, cashiering, reconciliations, accounts payable, credit control and client payments
  • Support transactional and completion-related finance activities, ensuring funds are received, reconciled and disbursed accurately and within deadlines
  • Work closely with Partners, fee earners and operational teams to provide responsive financial support
  • Manage WIP, aged debt and cashflow activities
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, client money regulations and financial procedures
  • Maintain banking relationships and oversee operational banking processes
  • Identify and implement process improvements across finance operations
  • Provide support with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Manage and support a Finance Assistant locally

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience within a Finance Manager, Finance Operations or similar role
  • Experience within legal, professional services, fiduciary, offshore or regulated environments is highly desirable
  • Strong operational finance background with willingness to remain hands-on day-to-day
  • Experience handling client monies, reconciliations, billing and transactional finance processes
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
