Industrial Maintenance Electrician
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: £39,900 - £43,900 + Training + Excellent Benefits
The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established industrial process business seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable operation where you'll play a key role in maintaining critical plant equipment, improving reliability and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Working within a close-knit maintenance team, you'll carry out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a complex industrial facility, helping to maximise plant availability while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of electrical plant and equipment.
- Respond to electrical breakdowns and carry out fault finding and repairs to minimise downtime.
- Diagnose faults on motors, drives, starters, control panels and associated electrical equipment.
- Install, modify and replace electrical cabling, containment and associated components.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Carry out safe isolations and work within Permit to Work procedures.
- Support planned shutdowns and larger maintenance activities.
- Work closely with operations and engineering colleagues to improve plant reliability and performance.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity you should have:
- A recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent electrical qualification.
- Experience working as an Industrial Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Electrical Technician.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills within an industrial environment.
- Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
- The ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of motors, drives, control panels and industrial electrical systems.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safe working practices and continuous improvement.
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
- HV experience.
- Working at Height or MEWP certification.
- Experience within heavy industrial, manufacturing, process, recycling, utilities, power generation or similar environments.
