Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a passion for leading people, driving continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards of health & safety?
Our client, a leading organisation operating within the hazardous waste and environmental services sector, is looking to appoint an Operations Manager to lead a busy processing facility in Nottinghamshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you'll have the autonomy to lead a large operational team, drive performance improvements and play a key role in developing a positive safety culture.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of a hazardous waste processing facility, leading approximately 25 operational staff while ensuring operations are carried out safely, efficiently and in full compliance with environmental legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, motivating and developing operational teams.
- Driving operational performance through KPIs and continuous improvement.
- Championing Health & Safety and environmental compliance.
- Implementing Lean initiatives including 5S, Kaizen and visual management.
- Managing operational projects and process improvements.
- Working closely with transport, maintenance and other internal departments.
- Building strong relationships with customers, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork and operational excellence.
About You
You'll have previous experience as an Operations Manager, Site Manager or Plant Manager within a regulated operational environment.
Ideally you'll have experience within:
- Hazardous Waste
- Waste Management
- Recycling
- Environmental Services
- Chemical Processing
- Heavy Industrial or Process Manufacturing
You'll also possess:
- Strong people management and leadership experience.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Experience driving operational improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style.
Desirable
- Waste industry experience.
- WAMITAB/COTC qualification.
- Behavioural safety or culture change experience.
Package
- Salary £57,000 - £65,000 (flexibility available for exceptional candidates).
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
