Health & Safety Advisor

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a well-established organisation operating within the UK's renewable energy and industrial processing sector.
This is a highly visible, site-based role supporting a large operational facility where you'll work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance and contractors to promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with company standards and UK legislation.
You'll become a trusted advisor to site leadership, helping to drive continuous improvement while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operational activities across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive health and safety support to operational and engineering teams.
- Carry out site inspections, audits and safety tours.
- Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
- Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work.
- Support contractor management and Permit to Work activities.
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and safety training.
- Coach managers and operational teams to improve health and safety performance.
- Support maintenance activities and planned outages.
- Monitor legislative compliance and company standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
About You
You'll have previous experience working within a heavy industrial environment and enjoy working closely with operational teams.
Backgrounds of interest include:
- Power Generation
- Energy from Waste
- Biomass
- Manufacturing
- Chemical / COMAH
- Cement
- Aggregates
- Utilities
- Other industrial process environments
You'll also possess:
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Around five years' Health & Safety experience.
- Experience investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 management systems.
- Contractor management and auditing experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to health and safety.
